Anand Kendra Orphanage

Of India’s nearly 1 billion people, an estimated 350 million – 400 million are below the poverty line. 47% of children in India less than three years of age are malnourished.Anand Kendra orphanage strives to make poverty for children history.

Home to 37 young boys from the ages of 8 to 18, Anand Kendra orphanage is a haven for all those children who have suffered from the loss of a parent or abandonment by a struggling parent. This summer Seek the Horizon gave all these boys hope for a better future. Serving bread and rice, volunteers gave these boys a feeling of importance.

Seek the Horizon donates each year to the orphanage in order to give these boys a full Indian meal, with rice, bread, curry and a special dessert. In addition, Seek the Horizon donated 40 Hot Wheels cars to the orphanage, 1 for each boy. Probably one of the best gifts they have ever received, the Hot Wheels car not only gave them another toy to play with but also gave these boys optimism for a better life.
